A note to mountaineers new to the European and Swiss Alps, global warming has led to incredible changes in route finding, route selection, and glacier melt. I highly recommend a local mountain guide that knows the area well and understands the changes.  A local guide has more knowledge and experience with local conditions which allows him to make safe, informed decisions and offer alternatives.
